Women's circle Birth
A gathering for mothers relating to the Birth of their baby/babies
Birth is an important event, and it takes time and often work to integrate that experience. Joining this gathering with other women who have given birth can be part of this integration work. This circle is for anyone that has given birth and that feels like joining, irrespective of how long ago you gave birth, how many times, and how your feelings are regarding this experience.

What to expect
Selena and Susanne will be space holders for an evening that can be a step in the processing of your birth experience.

We will talk about the important elements that are required to have a positive birth experience, so we can reflect on whether these were met or not, to better understand why we experienced the birth in a certain way.

We will use meditation practice to ground and connect to ourselves. Supporting and guiding you in practicing compassion for yourself and each other.

We will explore the lesson(s) we learned from the birth experience, and reflect on how this lesson stays applicable throughout our parenthood journey with our child.

In addition we will share a home cooked meal together.

We both speak English and Norwegian, and will use these languages in such a way that we accommodate the needs of everyone joining this circle.

What NOT to expect
Although there will be time for sharing, you should not expect to be able to share your birth story from A to Z during this circle. There are several reasons why we have made this choice:
To share your full birth story takes time. If we would give everyone in the circle enough time to share their stories, we would likely not have time to do anything else in this evening.
Sharing your own story takes energy and listening with attention to other women’s stories also takes energy. It would not be a nurturing evening, if we require each other’s energy for all those stories. Birth stories can be triggering and not everyone might be in the right place to respond to those triggers.

If you feel you would like to share your birth story from A to Z, please contact us. We offer different ways to enable you to do so.

You should also not expect us to provide trauma therapy during this gathering. We are trauma informed, but we have no education in trauma treatment. This does not mean that you are not welcome to join our gathering if you feel that you have birth trauma. But the circle is not created with the aim of resolving birth trauma.

Susanne, NatalWisdom
Hello! I am working in the birth and postpartum field out of compassion. To start with self-compassion, because I am now doing something I absolutely love and I have the freedom to organize my life the way I like. And also out of compassion for women that are going through the beautiful but often challenging transition into motherhood. My desire to connect with other women, my groundedness, plus my broad interest for women related/ feminist topics has organically resulted in becoming a space holder for women circles.
Looking forward to share this coming circle with you!
~with compassion, Susanne Jager

Hi, I’m Selena. I’m a mother, a doula, and a birth photographer.
My work revolves around cultivating and deepening the connection with nature of the body and its wisdom. I invite to reflections that may open for new perspectives, and more authentic choices from within.
I support women in slowing down and trusting their bodies—through preparing to pregnancy, in pregnancy, birth, motherhood, and life’s cycle.
As I witness the power and unique support that arise when women come together- I’m inspired to hold spaces for gatherings and circles, inviting women to share the magic of being together.
~with love, Selena Moss
